VAWG STALL

On 18 July 2026, PCSO Sethi and PCSO Khan from Ilford Town SNT conducted a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) engagement stall outside Ilford Exchange, High Road, Ilford, between 0900hrs and 1430hrs.

The engagement formed part of our ongoing commitment to tackling Violence Against Women and Girls by raising awareness, promoting personal safety, and encouraging members of the public to report concerns and seek support where required.

Throughout the day, officers engaged with a diverse range of people, including local residents, shoppers, commuters, and visitors to the town centre. Numerous positive conversations were held regarding personal safety, crime prevention, reporting mechanisms, and the wider work being undertaken by the Metropolitan Police to address VAWG-related issues.

The stall was well received by the public, with many individuals expressing their appreciation for the visible police presence and the opportunity to engage directly with local neighbourhood officers. The event provided a valuable platform to strengthen community confidence, listen to local concerns, and promote partnership working to help make public spaces safer for women and girls.

Overall, the engagement was a success, generating positive feedback and reinforcing our ongoing commitment to supporting and safeguarding those within our communities.
